So only the Israelites sin???

Michael Angelo, probably not his real name as he is a troll who constantly uses 1 John 3:4 to say that:

"Nobody today has sinned. Sin was violation of the law (1 Jn 3:4). Only Israelites had and were under the law. Nobody violates a law they aren’t under. Therefore, nobody today sins."

I know that hyperdispensationalists use a variation of this twisted idea to say that they do not sin.

Whatthey are saying is that God's law applied only to the Hebrews starting at the time when God began to reveal it to them through Moses and through today.

Well this is absolute rubbish.

First, here is the text that is abused in order to reach their false conclusions:

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:4

Now then, Paul said that all have sinned. This would include both Hebrews and Gentiles but since it is generally accepted that the church in Rome was made up of Jews you likely will falsely narrow the context of "all" to include only the Jews.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23

It is through Paul's letters to the church in Corinth that we will discover that the assumptions and conclusions made by some off of 1 John 3:4 alone are completely fallacious.

Paul told the Gentiles at Corinth that they sinned.

They were Gentiles:

Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 1 Corinthians 12:2

Gentiles do sin:

And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed. 2 Corinthians 12:21

I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare: 2 Corinthians 13:2

To assume that God's law applies only the Jews is shown fallacious as well when one takes into the fact that the angels, who certainly were not Jews or men for that matter, also sinned. Sin is the violation of God's law and sins Jews and non-Jews alike have sinned then one has to conclude that this applies to everyone.

The following verses, in proper context, shows that the angels sinned and thise during Noah's time did as well. It is a fact that the sinners during Noah's time were not Jewish either as Abraham would come much later.

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; [5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 2 Peter 2:4-5

The overall context is that one cannot make divisive considerations between Jew and Gentile when it comes to the gospel as given through Jesus Christ.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13

The violation of the law was much more than not keeping the practices as laid out in the Mosaic law but it is not keeping the spirit of such laws or in other words God's moral law. This keeps everything within proper context when it comes to sin and who committs sin.

Jesus gave several examples of this throughout His ministry on earth.

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:21-22

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:27-28

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? [19] And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. [20] Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. [21] And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. [22] Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. So if you insist along the same lines as does this character Michael Angelo then you need to stop sinning in saying that you cannot sin.
