Calvinists excuse suicide where God does not unless the sinner repents.

John Macarthur, true to his Calvinist presuppositions, errs once again away from biblical truth in his position on suicide.

He cites Colossians 2:13-14 as proof that all sins, past, present and future, are forgiven thus excusing suicide in the process.

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Colossians 2:13-14

Note that Paul is telling the believers in Colosse in the present tense that the ordinances, referenced in the past tense, that were against them were forgiven. By forcing this out of context to include future sins violates what Paul clearly wrote to the church in Rome that the propitiation for the remission of sins through the blood of Jesus was for past sins only.

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are PAST (emphasis mine), through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:25

All future sins require repentance. There are no exceptions noted in scriptures.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3 and 5).

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Suicide is self-murder. We need to get past the emotional desire to excuse it when God’s word is strongly opposed to murder.

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15

Suicide is the ultimate destruction of what is supposed to be the temple of God’s Spirit.
