I know that sin is an abomination just as God does and without exceptions. I do not want to ever give ground for compromise in this area for God's sake. I know that one can go without sinning through God's strength. I know that all sin must be confessed and and repented of because the penalty otherwise is eternal death. I know the gift of God is salvation from sin and death and this is only through Jesus Christ. I know that this gift from God is mine to take, reject or return. I know that when I endure until the end I shall be saved. I know that Jesus loves me because His word tells me so. He died for me so that I can live victoriously for Him. Again, I know these things because God's word tells me so. I am extremely opposed to labels such as Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Calvanist, Reformed, Arminian, ad nauseum because if I cling to any man made category I would be tempted to manipulate scripture to accommodate "my label" as I did so in the past. I will agree with whatever I know to be true and I will change my thinking if I learn that something I held to be true was actually not true. I am simply a Christian if I were to admit to any label. I do not identify as a follower of Calvin, Augustine, or any other false teachers that came after Christ. I am simply a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ and no one else. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 1 Peter 4:16 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. [25] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 16:24-25 I believe scriptures as per God's original intent. I purpose to continuously learn exactly what He preserved in His word through much prayer and through following the instructions of His spirit. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: [20] Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. [21] For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:19-21 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 In conclusion I am a simply a Christian and I know that Jesus loves me because the Bible tells me so.
It's so simple even a child should understand this but instead men choose to over-intellectualize things, especially the gospel, a d in doing so lead so many frustratiin and confusion. We are not called to comprehend Calvin's system of theology but instead we are to trust in Jesus Christ alone and to allow His word to be the only light for our path.
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! [104] Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. [105] Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:103-105 Jesus loves me! This I know, For the Bible tells me so; Little ones to Him belong, They are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so. Jesus loves me! He who died, Heaven's gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, Let His little child come in. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so. Jesus loves me! loves me still, When I'm very weak and ill; From His shining throne on high, Comes to watch me where I lie. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so. Jesus loves me! He will stay, Close beside me all the way; He's prepared a home for me, And some day His face I'll see. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
