Have you been deceived?

I was for decades of my life and I still search the scriptures daily to make sure I am not in error in my beliefs. Sadly I know that a great number of professing Christians are living under great deceptions. Since the way to life is narrow and few there be that find it then realistically just a fraction of those who profess Christ are actually born again. Many out there are deceived and haven't a clue. Don't take your denomination's word for what is true until you have tested everything in light of God's word. Have you read through the Bible once? If not then how can you know if what you hear or read is true? If you have then do it again and again so you know God's word well enough that you can, along with the Spirit of God's guidance, discern when something from the pulpit or anywhere else contradicts God's Word. In fact I recommend that you read through the Bible in a month's time and do so several times so you can see, in a clear snapshot, the full context from the beginning to the end of God's word. The way to life is narrow. Be sure you are truly on the right path. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14 Thus saith the Lord , Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16 Wake up and study to show thyself approved! Wake up and be not deceived! While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. Matthew 25:5 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. Ephesians 5:14 To be sure, there are more today who are deceived than not so make sure you are not one of the deceived. And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. Luke 21:8 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come , except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. [24] For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:23-24 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:1-7 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, [10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. [13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. [14] But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them ; [15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:12-17 Have you fully held up all of your doctrines and beliefs in light of God's Word? If you accept OSAS, original sin and the pre-trib rapture as gospel truth then I highly recommend that you thoroughly study God's Word to see if these things are so. This will not be a review of those issues but instead it is a challenge for you to fully test these and all other beliefs you hold in light of God's Word. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 Be not deceived!
