Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. Proverbs 15:33 How to find it: My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; [2] So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; [3] Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; [4] If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; [5] Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord , and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:1-5 Why is it important? It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31 With that said we must rejoice with trembling and serve Him. Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
