Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 2 Peter 1:10

Who needs to give diligence? The brethren do. So if you are a believer then you need to, no you get to, give diligence to make your calling and election sure.

To say that we have no part or obligation in the process of election is ludicrous.

This falls in line with what Jesus said, that those who will endure until the end (Matthew 10:22 and 24:14, Mark 13:13) would be saved and the writer of Hebrews who said that we must be careful that we do not depart from the living God (Hebrews 3:12).

Those who have obtained election (Romans 11:7) have to ensure that they keep their election (2 Peter 2:10). Those who keep their election sure are the ones who endure until the end.
