Are you a servant of righteousness unto holiness or a sinner?

What do you embrace, a sinful or a holy gospel?

I have sat too many times in churches that preached a gospel of helplessness, one that emphatically states that men have no choice but to sin while living in this world.

The more I read God’s Word the more I realize that God’s gospel is one that enables and encourages holiness and that God can indeed help us to live holy and without sin.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, Jude 1:24

A gospel that says you are going to “mess up” because you are only human (in the flesh) is not the gospel of Jesus Christ but instead it is the gospel of humanism.

Humanism is the world view that appeals to the human as being the center of all being or more simply put, it appeals to the flesh. Being a servant of sin is someone who serves his own flesh instead of the Spirit. Humanism is the idea that end of all being is the happiness of man. Sin does indeed bring happiness for a season but the wages of sin, despite any perceived happiness obtained along the way, is and always will be death.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Ezekiel 18:20

Holiness and not sinfulness is what is produced when the true gospel of Jesus Christ is preached, heard, embraced and lived out in a believer’s life.

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. Isaiah 35:8

It seems that there is a purposeful neglect of preaching holiness and it comes as no surprise that the result of this demonic attach on what is right and pure would result in very few people actually getting this right and finding it. In fact, if one preaches holiness and a life of actually not sinning they get attacked with bible verses typically used with a humanistic slant or with just worldly philosophy sans any scritpture. Because, after all, “you’re only human” right?

No, a saint is not a sinning humanist but instead he is a new creature who is free indeed. A saint is holy, not a sinner. This is where people get all twisted up in their heads and spirits. Sometimes when some folks hear this they go absolutely nuts and then they start to rabidly defend sinning as if their life depended on it but the irony is, they are defending what actually kills them. Remember that the wages of sin is death.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

There is no such thing as a sinning saint. Saints are holy while sinners are unclean and headed for death.

One can only be a servant of righteousness unto holiness or they can be a sinner. One cannot be both. One can only serve one master.

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Romans 6:19-22

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:6-9

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Psalms 24:3-5

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Hebrews 12:14-15
