The absence of free will nullifies the viability of any perceived gift in actually being a gift Any supposed gift not freely offered or freely chosen is not a gift at all. To the Calvinist a gift from God has to be a decreed mandate in that it cannot be rejected, either at the initial offering or post-acceptance. So the answer to 'when is a gift not a gift?' is, when a Calvinist defines it...
