1. That we would humble ourselves. 2. That we would pray. 3. That we would seek God's face. Now here is where most people get squirmish...but we need all 6 to be done in order for forgiveness and healing to occur. 4. That we would turn from our wicked ways. 5. That we would obey God. 6. That we would walk in His commandments. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. Jeremiah 7:23 Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the Lord your God; and the Lord will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you. Jeremiah 26:13 It is interesting if not sad that the less intense version from 2 Chronicles 7:14 was chosen by the modern church as their battle cry, if you will, rather then Jeremiah's more direct passages where God commands obedience from His people. Of course His people chose not to obey. My hope and prayer is for a different outcome because judgement is coming otherwise.
