What profits anyone if they gain their country but lose their soul?

Instead of calling on their political hero to repent of obvious sin professing Christians defend him by saying the attempt to cover up the sin was paid out of his own money. They see that this is somehow ok or at least they give it a pass because other politicians did the same thing but they did it with taxpayer's money. Sin is sin no matter how extreme or not it is. Even if it comes out that it was his own money and not the campaign's money and even if he did not know about his lawyer doing the payoff the adultery is still sin that needs to be repented of and not covered up. Therein lies the irony that people desperately want to trust this man's claims that he had no idea this happened and that his lawyer made the payoff. Yeah, trust an adulterous womanizing man's word despite the sin just because he is your political hero. Shame on all those who are compromising in this. Sin should be called out to be repented of and not covered up or defended. Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 My family is praying for this man and our country to get right with God. You all should as well and stop covering and supporting people's sin.
