If someone is living in righteousness and has gray hair why would they want to change either of these?

Righteousness is being in a right standing with God and thus free from sin. This indeed brings glory to God.

The gray head is a crown of glory for the righteous bearer of it and this also brings glory to God because his child is living in obedience to Him in righteousness.

It's a win win situation and the best part of all is that God is glorified! That is the goal of any righteous child of God.

The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. Proverbs 16:31

The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head. Proverbs 20:29

Hoary defined by Webster's 1828: adjective.  Gray or white with or as if with age.
