VOTING GUIDE FOR TRUE CHRISTIANS

"But what about Kings David and Solomon?"

This has come up more than once in discussions around who Christians ought to support when voting.

Just to get this out of the way quickly...

Kings David and Solomon were chosen by God and not by "we the people". In other words they were not chosen by the people of Israel but by God specifically. We should not try to pretend that by compromising with our votes this is somehow God choosing anything or anyone.

Therein lies the big difference.

This should be recognized and should frame the issue and direct our actions regardless of the perceived pending outcome.

The pending outcome, or what could be, seems to be for many today the greater guiding force for their decisions in whom they should vote for verses what God's word specifically directs them to do.

Christians who live in the USA and are part of "we the people" are told by God's word to:

1. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21

2. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22

3. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11

In all reality this applies to all Christians regardless where they live and in relation to any decisions they make when it comes to giving their vote of approval on any issue or person.

God’s word definitely needs to be the one and only voting guide for all Christians in the USA.
