The concept of a carnal Christian is really the non-Catholic equivalent of purgatory but the carnal Christian in supposedly in this life where purgatory is supposedly in the afterlife. Neither of these actually exist. Both of these man-made lies promote a middle ground between salvation and condemnation that does not exist. The claims of both of these falsehoods state that these states exist within the far end of salvation, if you will, closer towards condemnation. They insist that those who are there as in the carnal Christian or go there as in the case of purgatory do not include those who are condemned but they include those who are just not exactly in a right standing with God. The Bible says those who are not right with God are not with God, as in not saved. It's very clear on that point. Do not be fooled, the "middle ground" is very much condemned by God. There is no compromising on this fact. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. [7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Romans 8:6-7 There is no such thing as a carnal Christian. You cannot be in enmity against God and still be His. You can be either on God's side or you are at war against Him. There is no neutral ground in this war. You are either for Him or you are against Him. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:4 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Matthew 12:30
