God abhorreth (hates) sinners...

Before you get too bent out of shape after reading the title take a deep breath and understand that while this is true, He loves them as well or He would have never died for them to have a chance to be reconciled back to him (John3:16, etc.). God hates the self-righteous person and there are many of these types who professes themselves as being Christians. These pray for not only their own physical blessings continuously but they also pray for the wicked to be blessed which God said not to do (see 2 John 1:9-11). God wants selflessly righteous Christians who obey Him and not disobedient wannabes. For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth. Psalm 10:3 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Psalm 5:5 For those who need to know, abhorreth is hate on steroids... This is the passage that says that Christians should not pray for God to bless non-believers or to wish them well. Why would a Christian desire a sinner to do well during the sinner's disobedience to God? We should only be praying for their souls to turn to God. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. [10] If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: [11] For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 2 John 1:9-11
