Verses for the edifying of anyone who is easily offended.

All of us, including myself, will benefit from these instructions.

Too many Christians refuse to submit their rights to our Lord and Saviour and they take offenses very personally. I fall prey to this on occasion and I try to be quick in repenting whenever possible. I still need God's Word as a constant reminder that Jesus bore our offenses and so we ought not take things personally.

I don't want to manage my anger and offenses but I need to resolve these completely.

First we must examine ourselves to make sure we are not guilty of any evil.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: [24] And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. [29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. [30] For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 1 Corinthians 11:28-30

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: [22] But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Once we have examined ourselves by the the light of God's word and through pray and the power, direction and correction of God's Spirit then we should further learn about offences and how to deal with them through God's word. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, [5] Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; [6] Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; [7] Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. [8] Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
