He's the kind of guy that questions a lot and will let you know when he is not fully convinced with the plan, but he will go along anyways because he is loyal. He is on the team even if it means death at the end, but he'll tell you he is not overly excited about the potential outcome.

When Jesus said they would be going to see Lazarus who had died Thomas was less than excited and it showed in his reply. Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. John 11:16 Later on Thomas once again had his doubts after it was reported that Jesus has risen from the dead. But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. [25] The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. John 20:24-25 But Jesus was so very patient and gracious to Thomas in helping him overcome his doubts. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. [27] Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. John 20:26-27 Thomas finally got it right thanks to Jesus' encouraging help. He said with confidence what a genuine believer would say of Jesus. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. John 20:28
