Forfeiting integrity for infidelity...

Sadly many professing Christians have chosen this position, a position of supporting infidelity over integrity in our culture today.

When it is convenient they will give a pass to someone if they have an unrepentant history or ongoing propensity towards infidelity if it suites their political or personal agendas.

This is not excusable at any level according to God’s word.

God’s word clearly states that those who make excuses or condones wicked behavior such as infidelity are worthy of…Well, I will let God’s word say it as it is not my call on this matter but God’s.

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness…covenantbreakers, without natural affection… Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1:29-32

Please do not take this the wrong way. Paul is not calling for anyone to be ‘put down’. He is saying however they are worthy of it according to God’s standard.

Eternal death is certainly a potential if one desires to stay on this path for sure.

God’s desire is for repentance and true change to that which is holy. Paul encouraged this as well with the church at Corinth where he pointed out that some of the folks there were guilty of sexual sins but that they had been set free from these things:

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. nd such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

Infidelity Defined:

INFIDEL'ITY, noun [Latin infidelitas.]

1. In general, want of faith or belief; a withholding of credit.

2. Disbelief of the inspiration of the Scriptures, or the divine original of christianity; unbelief.

There is no doubt that vanity is one principal cause of infidelity

3. Unfaithfulness, particularly in married persons; a violation of the marriage covenant by adultery or lewdness.

4. Breach of trust; treachery; deceit; as the infidelity of a friend or a servant. In this sense, unfaithfulness is most used.

Integrity Defined:

INTEG'RITY, noun [Latin integritas, from integer.]

1. Wholeness; entireness; unbroken state. The constitution of the U.States guaranties to each state the integrity of its territories. The contracting parties guarantied the integrity of the empire.

2. The entire, unimpaired state of any thing, particularly of the mind; moral soundness or purity; incorruptness; uprightness; honesty. integrity comprehends the whole moral character, but has a special reference to uprightness in mutual dealings, transfers of property, and agencies for others.

The moral grandeur of independent integrity is the sublimest thing in nature, before which the pomp of eastern magnificence and the splendor of conquest are odious as well as perishable.

3. Purity; genuine, unadulterated, unimpaired state; as the integrity of language.

Let us start supporting Biblical integrity and stop condoning sin.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
