Man does not Define religion

The actions of men versus the word of God.

The statement stems from much disdain in regards to many of the mega church pastors, priests, and Bishop's that are doing deplorable things under the banner of "religion".

And this disdain is not uncalled for, the wickedness of men tends to show itself most evil when it is contrasted by religion.

Now let us take a step back and Define the term religion. When I say religion I mean the Christian faith founded on the word of God.

The Bible defines religion as:

"...To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." - James 1:27

The Bible clearly states that faith and Action are almost one in the same or rather they work together in a perfect balance of harmony.

"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." - James 2:17 KJV

Jesus tells us that we will know Christians by their fruits or to say by their actions.

Jesus isn't telling us that religion is Define by the actions of men; but rather men are defined by their actions; whether they are for for against the doctrines of Christ.

Man does not Define religion;

Religion defines the man.

But how is religion judged? Should it be judged?

First off I see many people judge religion based off of what they have seen people say or do. This is not correct seeing as those words or actions are not the representations of religion but rather the representations of those that commit the actions or say those words.

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." - Matthew 12:36 KJV

Much like a warranty for a car, if you use your car in a way that goes against the agreement; the warranty becomes void and insurance will not cover any damage done to the car.

So that person that killed her children because "god told me too" was not talking about the God of the Bible because that goes against the law (warranty) that God himself put in place. Her "warranty" is VOID and God (the insurance company) cannot be held responsible for damage done.

This is one of many examples of evil things done under the guise of christianity.

But none of them have any true foundation under the new testament law. - Exodus 20:13 - Matthew 5:39 - Matthew 26:52

Their warranty is void.

With this said we should judge religion, not on the actions of men but rather the teachings of the doctrine itself "...rightly dividing the word of truth..." - 2 Timothy 2:15

It is also a command for us to "Prove all things; (and) hold fast that which is good." - 1 Thessalonians 5:21
