What is your motivation for everything you do?

The motivation we should seek for in whatever we do should simply be first and foremost a motivation rooted deeply in the desire to bring glory to God.

He provides back everything we need regarding our emotional well being, our satisfaction, our pleasures etc.

If we seek things first to satisfy ourselves then we have it backwards as do the humanists.

Humanism believes that the end of all being is the happiness of man.

Christianity knows that the end of all being is the glory of God.

Paul said it best when he wrote"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

The best guideline for a Child of the most high God is follow the greatest commandment as He provided to us through His Son Jesus Christ:

...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:37-40

Am I motivated by my love for God and others? If not in that order then my motivation is misplaced according to God's standard.

Did you notice that God did not say that we should love ourselves when He provided these commandments?
